Never Surrender single AVAILABLE NOW on iTunes!
As part of our Peak Performance Project showcase last September, we were asked to perform a cover of famous Canadian song, so we chose to learn the 1985 mega-hit “Never Surrender” by Montreal’s Corey Hart. Since playing it at our showcase, fans have requested the song so much that it’s now a regular feature of our set, so we decided it would be a fun experiment to do a studio recording of the song. Fortunately the Peak Performance Project gave all the Top 20 artists a $3500 grant to spend on cool stuff like hiring a producer and booking studio time, so we called up our friend Adam Sutherland (who produced/engineered our debut album) and hired him to bring the track to life. As many of you already know, we’ve

Peak Performance Project Voting Starts Today!
For those of you who haven’t already heard, Acres Of Lions has been involved in an amazing artist development project over the past couple months called the Peak Performance Project. The goal of the project is to help 20 musicians from British Columbia get more exposure, improve their skills, and provide them with some financial support – including a top prize of $100,500! The project started with a $3500 grant for all 20 artists, and continued through a week long band “boot camp” retreat that got the artists re-thinking their strategies about everything from songwriting to marketing. Over the course of the project the artists had to perform various showcases and challenges, and now we’ve arrived to the final component which is online voting. The voting will make up a

Post-Rifflandia III and the fun we continue to have!
Friends! So good to see all of you this past weekend! This week we are recovering from the 3rd chapter of a Victoria-based event known as “RIFFLANDIA.” The capital letters say it all. It was immense and fantastic! The festival started 3 years ago and we have had the honor of being one of the many artists who have performed this year and last. We feel that Rifflandia is important to the Victoria community and it has certainly grown by leaps and bounds, each year it gets bigger and better, and the amount of talent it draws is simply outstanding… and not just musicians either, every artist alike attends this thing and makes it the best it can be. And this year, on Thursday, September 23rd, we were fortunate enough

Acres Of Lions Street Team
Today we created a Facebook Group for the Acres Of Lions Street Team and we’re hoping you will join us! The idea behind the group is to single out the fans who really believe in our band and who might be willing from time to time to help us out. In exchange for your extra support we’re going to do our best to make you feel like a part of our family, so that will include stuff like giving you early concert announcements, free merch giveaways, free guestlists spots at shows, etc, etc. This whole process is very new for us, so if you have any cool ideas of things we could do to promote the band, or better incentives we could offer to get you to help us out,
“PPP Showcase #1 was AWESOMETASTIC!”
Over the last 3 years, we have played many shows, traveled many kilometers, met many people, invented many words to describe experiences that appeared to be indescribable… and the #peakpp was one of those experiences that we just had to put a word to, something different than all the other words we use, a word we will remember for years to come… and that word is AWESOMETASTIC. We had a different set tonight, a mixture of new and old songs, songs we fell in love with over time. We also included a BRAND new song we’ve been working on for the last month and an old song we’ve only performed a handful of times, clearly expressing Jeff’s passions for obscure Sci-Fi television program references. There was a moment when a
Acres Of Lions partners with MusiCounts!
We are really excited to announce that this fall Acres Of Lions is partnering with an amazing Canadian organization called MusiCounts!! The purpose of the organization is to keep under-funded music programs alive in our schools, and we are so happy to be able to be involved in helping such an amazing cause. Music shapes our lives in so many ways, and as artists it’s sad for us to think that many kids across this great country are missing out on the joy of music. Our goal is to not only raise money for the project, but also to raise awareness for what MusiCounts is doing, so that brings us to STEP 1, of our multi-step plan. STEP 1 – PEPSI REFRESH PROJECT On October 31st, Pepsi is donating $100,000
