Summer Tour Blog #2
Well hello again, friends! We hope all of you out there have been having some great summer months! There is so much incredible music and art hitting all the summer festivals this year it is just too crazy to fathom, so we hope you were able to put some time aside and check at least a few of them out! We can assure you that our days have just been packed here in Acres for the last little while, since we last spoke, which has been too long, so we thought “Hey! It’s time for an update!” Things are beginning to wind down for us at the moment, this month of August marking our 5 and a half month “Tour-iversary!” We can’t even believe it has been nearly half a
Summer Tour Blog #1
To our dearest friends! We just wanted to drop you all a line from the road to see how you’re doing! We here in Acres sincerely hope you are having the best summer you can this grand year of 2012! We have now been touring on the roads and airways of Canada for 152 days and our momentum that has been driving us, getting us safe and sound to your beautiful towns and cities, to the endless rock shows and incredible summer festivals, does not appear to be letting up any time soon! And we are so very thankful and humbled, by all of it; the unconditional love, support and hospitality that we have received from all of our fans, our families, our friends, our fellow bands, wayward musicians, concert

June 29th – July 2nd Tyson walks onto the stage, dressed like a full on cowboy. Jeff: “Well, well, well. If it isn’t the eternal cowboy himself.” Dan: “Nice hat, hoss.” Cody: “This feels right.” Well hot damn! Welcome to the historic Williams Lake Stampede! We had the pleasure of spending 3 whole days here with Jobfest 2012, seeing through the stampede in its entirety; the rodeo, the barn dance, the bull-riding, the wild horse-roping, the cow-milking(?) Yes, it was an insanely awesome time, where we got to play dress-up for a few days and don some southern accents, some very fine hats and some flawless plaid shirts. We weren’t proud of being walking, talking stereotypes, but it was fun, and it DID allow us rather easy access into the

June 26th and 27th “Glitter is the Herpes of the Theater World.” – A true statement from our sound-tech, Bryan Cutler What a day! Not only was the weather perfect, but so was each and everyone in Vanderhoof who came out to Jobfest 2012 today! We can’t thank you enough for the support, and hopefully your Jobfest/Acres Of Lions experience was just what you were looking for, in future career direction and in music! A big shout out to our new pals Jesse Modz from 94XFM for hanging out today and broadcasting the event, and for bringing along his wonderful girlfriend Chelsea, who we also want to thank for letting Tyson and Dan celebrate her birthday, and for pruning Dan’s hair into a true mullet. Unfortunately, there was a power

June 22nd-25th “Also, make sure to say Hi to the Acres Of Lions bass-player, Dan Ball. He came out of the womb and into this world in a jean jacket, and that’s same way he’ll check out.” – Aaron Joseph, our wonderfully clever Jobfest MC The days are just packed, just as a summer tour should be! Just wanted to send everyone an update as we move through Fraser Lake and Fort St. James Jobfest 2012 activations, and say that we have definitely been whining too much about the rising heat and the summer is not even at its hottest point yet. The sleeves, socks and pants have come off and we, well we certainly appear to, mean business these days. And also, we want to mention that Dave Ball,

June 20th and 21st “Someone needs to sign my nipples right now. I don’t care who. Now. Not later. NOW.” – Some kid at Jobfest, who we witnessed consuming 3 Red Bulls in under 20 minutes At last, our glorious return to Burns Lake! It had to be one of the hottest days at Jobfest 2012 by far, as our the crew’s collective and silly farmer-tans turned into sunburns. Our Jobfest crew pal Monica, the smart girl that she is, ran out in the middle of the day and purchased the biggest bottle of aloe-vera lotion you’ve ever seen, in preparation for our night of red-armed and shouldered agony. We even filled our hotel bathtub with ice, contemplating extreme measures to relieve the discomfort, but we figured it wasn’t worth

June 17th and 18th “Mommy, can I have them for my Birthday??” – Erin, the sweetest little girl in the world, in regards to our band Houston was one of the best Jobfest 2012 activations and shows of the tour so far! We started the day at the Houston Secondary School, entertaining and playing a few songs for The Wolverines, the lovely boys and girls that make up the Houston Marching Band. We discussed the joys, and the hardships, of being in a full-time touring band, gave a little advice on how to start your very own from the ground up and Dan also explained the greatness of “hitting the smoke-pit to and from jazz band class” that used to exist when he was in high school. We would like
