Maritime adventure!

Maritime adventure!

Guys, finally, after all these years, we managed to take our tour our to the East Coast! It was a long trek from Thunder Bay to Saint Andrews New Brunswick, with a couple stops in Sudbury and Quebec City, but the van held up and did an outstanding job with the 20 hour drive and as always, she got us right where we needed to be, and much earlier than expected, leaving us a good amount of time to explore the rainy streets, warm pubs and the seaside at low tide in the quaint little town of Saint Andrews next to the Bay of Fundy. According to the locals, this wasn’t the ideal time to be playing monster gigs around these parts, but it was a solid night of tunes

Saskatoon, Junofest and a quick night in Thunder Bay!

Saskatoon, Junofest and a quick night in Thunder Bay!

Our trek continues with the longest drives you’ve ever seen and a steady diet of black coffee and Tim Horton’s everything bagels as we move this “what we thought was spring but feels more like winter” tour into Ontario! In a recap of the past week, we saw Saskatoon again for the first time in a long time! We actually had the pleasure of sharing the stage with some good friends, our boys in Fisticuffs and 2012 Peak Performance Project Winner, our homie Jordan Klassen! A band from Whitehorse called Old Time Machine opened the show at Vangeli’s Tavern… and as far as we’re concerned, they could have played all night long and we really wouldn’t have minded… make sure to go give them a spin on whatever music tech

Straight Up Good Times in Alberta!

Straight Up Good Times in Alberta!

As expected, the minute we cross the BC border into Alberta, we hit snow… in April. We even took the winter tires off of the van thinking it was going to be bright and sunny for the rest of our days… SO not the case. We made it to Calgary just fine, no potential accidents or close-calls… but hey, when in Canada, probably best to keep your vehicle being Canadian and ready for anything… like black ice and wind gusts, or high mountain roads and unpredictable and sudden weather changes, even in the summer. DUH. The gig in Calgary was quite the spectacle! We were two bands into the six band show at The New Black, and a transformer exploded and took out power on the entire block. All of

Victoria House Concerts B Footage!

Victoria House Concerts B Footage!

Hello there, folks! As you may or may not know, on April 3rd we performed once again, our 3rd featured edition of Victoria House Concerts B, in the house of our dear friend Andy! We played two sets for an absolutely wonderful and enthusiastic Victoria audience, comfy and cozy in the living room. There have been some people messaging us during that time and even weeks later, expressing their regret that they could not catch the show… BUT NOW, thanks to our good buddy Darren Ho, we have some great footage from the house concert for all of you who missed out to peruse and enjoy at your leisure! Check them out! Old Town Signs and Wonders Indian Summer (Pedro The Lion Cover) For more and more videos of our

Back on the road, and we brought a friend!

Back on the road, and we brought a friend!

Hey friends! We are finally back on the road this week after spending a good week in Victoria catching up, and it feels so good! We brought a friend with us this time around, to take some beautiful photos and videos and help us sell our finest and cheapest of Acres Of Lions products directly to you at the gigs… Her name is Lindsey Blane. She is an excellent photographer, experienced cat lover, kind of a big deal and an all around good buddy… we are so excited to have her travel with us for the next week, hopefully scar and trauma free! The first stop was The Royal on Baker St in Nelson BC! It was a rather rainy Sunday evening, but it didn’t seem to stop the great

Releasing "Home(s)' into the wild = Excitement!

Releasing “Home(s)’ into the wild = Excitement!

Following an incredible gig in Vancouver at Joe’s Apartment last Thursday, with talented babes Ali Milner and Zerbin (It really was an incredible gig… there were some pretty epicly amazing high fives given out during our performance) we said goodbye to Vancouver and our Vancouver besties, and gave a very fond hello to our fair home city of Victoria. The ferry ride was a bit more bearable this time around… one could even say we missed it like nothing else… Here’s a few shots FROM THE GARAGE took from the Joe’s Apartment Gig (Thurs, March 28) The next night we had our official “Home(s)” album release party at Lucky Bar with Chris Ho and Sunhawk. It felt nice to be back in a familiar venue with familiar faces and that

Good day at The Peak!

Good day at The Peak!

Yesterday, we had the divine pleasure of spending a solid hour at Vancouver’s best station, 102.7 The Peak (DUH), and although it wasn’t quite time for their legendary “Beer Club,” something I think we can all enjoy, and have, thoroughly in the past, we still had a great time with them fine folks, as expected. We had a brief chat with the warm and kind likes of James Sutton and Carly Walde on the air, and we were even given the privilege of performing an acoustic version of our new single “Bright Lights” for the listeners… check it out! A huge thanks goes out to The Peak for spinning our new song “Bright Lights” and for their constant support of our craft. It was a pleasure and we hope we

Monday Magazine and our Album Release Party!

Monday Magazine and our Album Release Party!

Guys, we are so proud to announce that we have made it on the cover of one of Victoria BC’s local papers, Monday Magazine! In this issue, Mary Ellen Green talks with our very own Tyson Yerex about our experience in the music industry this far down the road, our impending 2013 tours and of course, a discussion on the topic of our brand new full-length album, “Home(s)” which again, will be out on April 2nd! Here’s a link to the ARTICLE… enjoy! A big thanks to the fine folks at Monday Mag for featuring us, and also, to Colby Johnson for taking some great photos of us in what was once (and still is a little, I guess…) our local element… we hope we can reside and find a
