The Fall Tour Begins!

The Fall Tour Begins!

Well, here we are again, folks! It’s been a good year; a busy start leading us into a spectacular summer of festivals and good people across the country, and now in the autumn season in the year of 2013, it’s time for us to once again put all of our trust into the van we love so much, the van that has given everything and taken nothing, a van that forgives us for all of our cursing, urinating in bottles and spilling coffee (along with other liquids, secretions and gross unmentionables) on the upholstery, and go on tour. We will be re-visiting some old haunts and will be performing twice, as well as having a few good beverages with a few good friends, in Calgary for BreakOut West! We’ve had

Shake The Lake 2013!

Shake The Lake 2013!

Hey guys and gals! Just wanted to let you all know that we are alive and well and back home in Victoria after our long drive and excellent excursion to Sylvan Lake AB for Shake The Lake 2013! We spent a good 3 days of driving in old Van Halen this weekend, truly inspired and surprised by her ability to endure, and we had the distinct privilege of headlining Saturday night’s events at Shake The Lake! Below you will find a video entailing the highlights of the second day at this wonderful, small community festival featuring a good, if not great, helping of amazing local and local-ish talent and the various other activities held at this event… what a day! Check it out! We had an incredible time in Sylvan

Srsly, how is it already August?

Srsly, how is it already August?

Hello friends! So this summer has been going by so so quickly and we here in the traveling dirt-bag circus otherwise known as Acres Of Lions have been having the time of our lives playing all these crazy summer festivals! We would personally like to thank all of you friends and festival-goers for coming out to see our sunny, sweaty sets these past couple of months… Seriously, Warped Tour in Toronto, Keloha in Kelowna, Rock The Shores, Rock Of The Woods on Vancouver Island… we had such a blast and some life-changing experiences at these events as a band… I mean COME ON, Jimmy Eat World, Weezer, Mathew Good, City And Colour… we had the distinct pleasure of sharing the stage with these acts, bands that we’ve looked up to

Keloha 2013 After-Party!

Keloha 2013 After-Party!

Just a quick and friendly reminder that we will be performing at the Keloha 2013 after-party this evening at Doc Willoughby’s in Kelowna! The after-party will be firing up around 11:00 pm, but make sure to come early to hang and pack the place out for The Treble, a fantastic band who we will be sharing the stage with this evening. This will probably be our billionth time playing at Doc’s but hey, each time is more cherished and memorable than the last. Let’s get sweaty and punk rock all up in everybody’s face! Did we ever mention how into The Arkells we are? Well, we saw them perform at the Island Stage last night and were completely blown away by them, once again… I mean, a terrific Jackson 5

Gearing Up For Warped Tour!

Gearing Up For Warped Tour!

We flew out of Kelowna BC Tuesday night and are currently in Toronto, awaiting our performance at this year’s Toronto date of the Vans Warped Tour! We are very excited to be a part of this in 2013 and we’d be lying if we said this wasn’t a fulfillment of a few childhood aspirations! The festival begins today at 11:00 am at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre and we will be performing on the “Kevin Says” stage this afternoon… there will be more details on the exact time we will be performing at later this morning so make sure to be frequently checking our social media, our TWITTER and our FACEBOOK, to find out and keep up with what is going on throughout the day! We will be live-tweeting the events

Happy Canada Day!

Happy Canada Day!

Happy Canada Day, once again everyone! On Monday night (July 1st 2013) we had the overwhelming pleasure of participating in Victoria BC’s Canada Day Celebration on the inner harbour and the privilege of sharing a beautiful stage erected on the Legislature Lawn with the likes of The Odds, Hey Ocean, Kathryn Calder, Caracol (From Montreal) and so many more we would like to name but would run out of room and make this run-on sentence run on longer than it had to see what I just did there? Part of the privilege was the chance to perform in front of all you beautiful people who attended the celebration by the thousands in a bright, sunny, outdoor setting… we can’t thank you all enough for showing your support at this event,

Bring on The Summer!

Bring on The Summer!

Hello there again, Fantastic Friends! Summer is upon us, and I think we can all agree that this is generally a good thing. It means that it is time for all the iced drinks, swim-wear at all times, real life tans, tons of friends and of course, SUMMER FESTIVALS! As you may already know, friends, we have long returned from our spring tour that took place from the months of March to late May, and as we are absolutely sad to be off the road for awhile… I mean nothing can really compare to the constant travel, the flow of amazing gigs across the country, the incredible music provided by excellent bands and artists and most of all, being stuffed in a van yet again with your best friends… BUT,

Canadian Veins 2013

A good rock tour is short, sweet and to the point. It’s always been a belief, that even the shortest tours can accomplish big things. They inspire strong friendships and create allies to cover ground together and explore uncharted territory. What at first is a plan between business-savvy musician-folk meant to correlate mutual fans and industry for benefit, to collaborate and create success, becomes a musical endeavor in which, fans, friends and tour-mates alike will never forget the emotion and effort put into giving it your all every single night, whether extensive or brief. Toronto pop-punk band Thunderhawks combined with Pennsylvania’s Kingsfoil gave us just that opportunity to experience, a solid moment in time. The tour began in Montreal at Quai des Brumes, a quaint little bar off a main

Next Time on The Amazing Race: PEI to Quebec City

There are few things as beautiful as the bridge to Prince Edward Island. This is something we found out recently. We came. We saw. Dan didn’t quite get red dirt in his eyes, which apparently is an expression from around these parts that he made up, but we played a great gig at the renowned Hunter’s Ale House for a stunning crowd of locals who made us feel right at home even though we were almost at the furthest point from it. The boys in The Town Heroes and Coyote made sure we had an excellent time while in Charlottetown by A) providing homemade lasagna and wine, hours of the finest quality of East coast Youtube sensations and lodgings, B) A solid gig at an awesome venue where the “Acres

Halifax... we hardly knew ye...

Halifax… we hardly knew ye…

Driving into Nova Scotia was a good moment… we felt like explorers in uncharted territory, trying to find an appropriate name and failing, to greedily claim it for ourselves as if it had never had feet set upon it… the silly games we play. We have been to Halifax in previous years for gigs by plane, with just our guitars and our foreign soil stuck to our shoes, but never like this. Never with the van and our entire life in the backseat. It was a good feeling. We raced through a rainstorm of mist from Moncton to get to work on time, and Hey! Whaddya know!? We were successful in doing so! We would just like to thank the fine individuals at Live 105 Loud in Halifax for having
