Friends! So good to see all of you this past weekend!

This week we are recovering from the 3rd chapter of a Victoria-based event known as “RIFFLANDIA.” The capital letters say it all. It was immense and fantastic! The festival started 3 years ago and we have had the honor of being one of the many artists who have performed this year and last. We feel that Rifflandia is important to the Victoria community and it has certainly grown by leaps and bounds, each year it gets bigger and better, and the amount of talent it draws is simply outstanding… and not just musicians either, every artist alike attends this thing and makes it the best it can be.

And this year, on Thursday, September 23rd, we were fortunate enough to play 2 shows in one night! The evening started out at Club 9ONE9, and we got to share the stage with some amazing acts and friends like @wearethecity, @yousayparty, @thehoundsbelow and a surprise opening performance by @glundstrom (Geoff Lundstrom) The show was spectacular and we were so so grateful to see people out and supporting local music!

Following the club, we headed down the street to the Victoria Events Center, where we invited to headline at the last minute, due to the unfortunate event that a great band from Peterborough, ONT, @TheSpades, had to cancel. The show also went well, and afterwards we discussed all the Rifflandia related events over some Rifflandabrau… ARTlandia, FREElandia, WINlandia… so excited for everything. There was even late-night breakfast after packing up our gear and finally calling it a night…  Jeff later got sick from his breakfast burger:( Everybody knows he can’t eat those things, why doesn’t he get it?

This was by far the best Rifflandia yet, and after the first night, we tested ourselves and stayed out Friday, Saturday AND Sunday night to see some more of our friends perform, @stephmacpherson, @aidanknight… we even got to see Gord Downie do his amazingly poetic thing with Julie Doiron, and you know what? Men Without Hats was even there too… I know, right??

This week we’re having a blast with our brother Adam Sutherland at “Infinity Studios” in Victoria… but we will talk about that very soon friends! Thanks for being rad!
