There is truly something about waking up in the afternoon surrounded by all of your friends and a cat on the window sil that makes a tour, a tour. Some of us shower, some of us don’t. Cody showers, Tyson, Dan, and I don’t. It has not become apparent yet but will soon enough and that is the fun of it, I guess. The constant thrill of who can become the grittiest, unaesthetically pleasing dude possible first. Sean, bless his golden heart, made us coffee (still partying, of course) before we woke up. We sat around for awhile in the sun, discussing the game plan for the day and writing songs about the music industry… nothing came out of it but we were onto something, let me tell you!

We finally got our act together and headed to the venue, where we met with a fantastic promoter named Brendan, who put on a rather amazing show. We set up then headed to the local guitar store for strings and accessories, hit up Taco Bell, and returned in time for the show. The show went well and on schedule. All the bands played great sets, and we as a band, with our new drummer Cody, felt we finally played a solid set together (FYI: we had only jammed with Cody a total of 6 hours before hitting the road, so there was bound to be some learning along the way!) The crowd was a great bunch of kids who came out to have a good time and we were happy. It was good and we were then blessed by the man himself, Travis Saunders and “Drive By Punch,” who I had always listened to but had never seen, and we finally got to play with them! They were amazing, and I gotta say, some of the nicest and most hospitable dudes I’ve ever met. Following the show, we were all treated to pizza and beverages at a local pub called “Burnsy O’Flannagan’s” where we were playing the next night. Hilarity, debauchery and good times ensued with all 3 bands, and wholesome activities such as darts, foozeball, chalk-snorting and pepper-spray were endured. We returned to Sean’s later that night and reflected on the evening. We though that next time, perhaps we should go to sleep early and get our much needed rest, to save our energy and practice good health, sit back on the sofa or what-have-you and take in the comedic stylings of Billy Crystal or maybe a game of scrabble or two, play with the cat, you know, that sort of quiet night. The idea was forgotten quickly.
