And what a grand Canada Day it was!

Kelowna BC has always been known for it’s massive and forgive me, “off the hook” Canada Day celebrations. We left Vancouver early so we could hit the beach in Kelowna, we didn’t, but we still joined in on the fun. It was crazy and the day was the nicest it could have been. We walked around for hours in the sun, listening to funk bands and what I thought was a Danko Jones cover band, got some rub-on tats, had a few beverages… someone even shouted at us from their vehicle, well to Dan, that he had a part of the female reproductive system on his face, how awesome! I have thought that for years! We got too much sun and went to Doc’s to cool down and set up for the show, pretty happening place and Colin, the proprietor of the joint, is one of the greatest bros, whom I later shared shots of fireball with reminiscing of how great Hot Water Music was. The show was fantastic, good people, and we were followed by locals “Malibu Knights” who are infinitely awesome and hook us up every time we are here. Our only regret was that we did not play until after the fireworks as the bar filled right up immediately following our set. All in all, it was a pretty solid night for us here in Acres of Lions and I learned a thing or two. I learned that, regardless of not knowing all the lyrics to Sublime’s “What I got” and not having a sense of hip hop, I can still pull it off. I also learned that bands named “Funky Hornz” can wail and that sunscreen is most definitely your friend in hot places. On another note, Dan got heat-stroke and passed out.
