May 28th – June 1st Jeff: “Hey bro, what doin’ tonight?” Dan: “I might stay in. I got some wine, gonna steal some bubble bath and watch Enterprise.” Jeff: “You’re such a catch.” Dan: “Yeah man, I’m totally taking myself out on a date.” Our almost week in Fort Nelson was a good one! We had the pleasure of staying in a Ramada that had awesome kitchenettes where we had, and experimented with, many various culinary endeavors, such as tacos, cooking a whole chicken and Beer-Gueritas, where you blend ice in with a couple Coronas and some limeade. Trust us, they’re delicious. It was insanely hot here the whole week so hardly anyone wore sleeves or pants, lending some hilarity to impending farmer tans that are slowly enveloping us and >> read more

May 25th-27th “Dude, the doctor I had came in wearing flip-flops and a t-shirt and looked exactly like Steve Nash. It was amazing all day. I was all like, Go Suns!” – Cody Beer on his visit to the Mackenzie Health Centre We write to you from Mackenzie BC! Established in 1967 by Alexandra Forest Industries (BC Forest Products), Mackenzie is a beautiful part of our province, operating and existing on forestry and metallurgy, the very stuff of our planet, and is also home to the World’s Largest Tree Crusher, in which we recommend not to play on. It is not a toy, it is not a toy, it is NOT a toy: We were really excited to set up Jobfest and play in Mackenzie! Not only was the weather >> read more

May 23rd and 24th Dan Ball is in a liquor store and attempts to buy a single bottle of Bud Light Lime. Clerk: “K, so if you’re going to buy just one beer and hate it, why don’t you just get this.” ‘Hands Dan an Innis and Gunn’ Dan Ball: “Touche.” Oh, Prince George! What a beauty! We began the day with a fancy breakfast, in which we prepared in our friend Becky’s hotel room with faulty, dull and ancient appliances, that threatened fire, blood and doom, an effort to pay her back for finding Jeff’s phone after he had briefly misplaced it when he became a momentary bar-star in Prince George. For 2 hours we felt like a little, awkward family unit, and we were so pleased with how >> read more

May 19th-22nd “I’m glad I finally found an instrument that’s the same timbre as my voice.” – Dan Ball when referring to the Banjo After a couple days off in Prince George, where we did lots of laundry, took advantage of the Sandman Inn’s pool and fitness room, and spent a great deal of time losing our cell-phones and destroying our eardrums while dancing at a local club called “The Generator” (and promptly being kicked out for dancing a little TOO well, I might add), where we bonded as a team accompanied by the fine quality of an Earls restaurant (Oh, Earls…) and Dan Ball played banjo until the sun came up, we finally reach McBride BC! McBride is a charming little town with a population of 700, located in >> read more

May 16th, 17th and 18th Jeff: “Hey Tyson, do you have any blank CD’s? Tyson: “What are those??” Hey there again, friends! Just dropping you all a line from New Hazelton beside the glorious Highway 16, the “Totem Pole capitol of the world!” We are staying at one of the nicest joints on the block, Robber’s Roost Motel, where the livin’ is easy, the wifi is abundant and the locals are amazingly talented and kind folks! Our few days here in the Hazeltons, which consist of three separate areas, were awesome. The areas include “New Hazelton,” where we slept, ate delicious Pho and made friends at The Roadhouse Pub; “Old Hazelton” and “South Hazelton” where we visited the ‘Ksan Historical Museum and learned much about the lives of the Gitxsan >> read more
