June 12th – 16th Jeff: “You’re SO lying.” Dan: “Whatever. It’s not a lie if YOU believe it.” Jeff: “You can’t bullsh** a bullsh***er, Dan. That’s not how relationships, of any kind, work, unfortunately.” Dan: “I guess I’m just looking for love in all the wrong places.” – A portion of the ridiculous conversation that took place in a Mexican restaurant And as we looked up onto the horizon, Smithers BC beckoned us! What a busy week it was! Not only did we relinquish all of our accumulated road-tension (it happens) by hitting this beautiful town every day, for hanging out with some Llamas at the Smithers Main Street Festival, for great sushi, for some great local brews, a terrifying viewing of Ridley Scott’s Prometheus, a couple of open mic >> read more

June 9th and 10th Jeff: “Shane, let’s fire up the BBQ M’man. Shane: “A.Y.C.H.B.” ‘Abbreviated way of saying “All You Can Handle, Bro.”‘ Oh my, what a fine day! Before we made tracks for Chetwynd, our next Jobfest 2012 stop on the map, we had a beautiful Saturday afternoon off in Dawson Creek. So we hit the butcher shop, the bottle shop and thus began preparations for an ultimate BBQ with our good pal Becky, and our buds in The Sunday Glow, Shane, Eric and Gary. The truly great part about this plan was that since Shane lived up here in the creek as a welder for a bit and is an amazing dude, he made some amazing friends. For instance, Jordan, who invited us up to his lovely family >> read more

June 7th and 8th Local man in bar: “Hey dude, I really like your band! Do you have a card or something you could give me?” Dan: “Absolutely, m`man!” ‘pulls cards out of pocket and they fall on the floor along with some pennies, a cigarette lighter and a Trojan’ Local man in bar, dumbfounded: “Wow. Classic.” Hell yeah! We managed to play 3 shows in 24 hours this weekend! The fun started Thursday night in Grande Prairie ALB, at BJ’s Sports Bar, with some of our best old buds from Toronto, a band called The Sunday Glow. These beauties were touring out this way so we though we’d book a couple gigs on the side of Jobfest while they were here. We are so happy it worked out. The >> read more

June 4th and 5th Dan: “I love summer weather. We can have BBBQ‘s! The extra B is for BYOBB!” Jeff: “What’s THAT extra B for?” Dan: “That’s a typo.” Well if it isn’t the energetic city of Fort St. John! Total flood-fest! We spent a few rainy days here in town, our Jobfest performance being stripped down to a solo performance due to the whole bulk of our equipment not being waterproof thing, where there was a lot of experimental out of control delay (or “space sounds” as some of the older folk call it), old punk rock covers and a few certain Jobfest crew members braving the stage and helping us out with a few backing vocals. I mean, they hear the same songs every day, they know the >> read more

June 2nd and 3rd Driving off the highway, into the woods, down a path to the Prophet River Jobfest site: Jeff: “Dan, I think I hear wolves howlin’ for you, bud!” Dan: I think any dog who decides to make a meal out of me will be extremely disappointed when they find I am made of sand, alcohol and rubber.” Dan steps out of the van and is immediately surrounded by dogs (true story) Prophet River was extremely fun! It started off a cold day, as we set up in a field next to the community centre, the locals who came down for the day building a giant roaring campfire for everyone to stay warm and cook food if they like. They also brought their dogs with them (the ones >> read more
